Gods

Anglo-Saxon polytheism, often known by modern reconstructionists as Fyrnsidu or just Heathenry, is full of gods. It is not well attested, having even less available than its Norse sibling. It requires a great deal of comparative mythology and linguistics in order to make progress, leaving us with a lot of work. Information is nonetheless available.

We are undoubtedly missing a great many deities who are likely never to be recovered, but understanding what remain will allow us to move on from that.

Each deity is listed under his or her Old English name, followed by the Modern English form. Many, however, require construction, which is marked by an asterisk.
